SS/LAS Composite Materials for Semi-finished 180° Tailored Bend Applications in Pressure Vessels
The SS (stainless steel) / LAS (low alloy steel) composite semi-finished 180° tailored bends (from DN1770 to DN1990) were manufactured for the PowerChina project. Each bend features an ultra-tight tolerance of ±20 mm on the inner diameter to allow installation of approximately 8,000 heating tubes. The maximum wall thickness reaches up to 45 mm. The inner layer is made of stainless steel 316L for corrosion resistance, while the outer layer uses high-strength low-alloy steel for structural strength and hardness. These special bends are designed for use in pressure vessel applications.
